SpiderMuggs and WolverMuggs meets Tristan!

Who Shall Gain The Emperor's Favour?

Synn snapped some of these gems while I was at work one day with amusing results, lol.

Interestingly, Tristan was extremely enamoured of the two Muggs. I think the vibrant colours just grabs his attention. It’s a fantastic way of introducing him to the Marvel universe, and a sneaky way of (maybe) getting him interested in the comics and cartoons Synn and I grew up with, hehe.

It wasn’t long before our smiley friend started getting excited about the new additions to our collection, lol.

Synn and I also managed to get our hands on more Mighty Muggs! We’re hopelessly addicted to this line. More pictures of them and the little man soon!

July 30, 2008

I recently discovered this gem of a vinyl line by Hasbro.

The Latest Additions To Our Home

The Latest Additions To Our Home

Apparently, these have been released for quite awhile, now. I can’t believe I missed an entire line of cute Marvel vinyls!!!! Arghh!!!! And now the backtracking begins. *facepalm*

Getting To Know Each Other

At $35 a piece, this line is definitely more for the novelty than its collectibility. But gawddammit, they’re so farking cute, I can’t stand it.

Obviously, these additions are just crying out to be introduced to the little man.

And introduce them we did, lol, with hilarious results. More in another post another day.

In any case, we’ve got a few more pieces from this line on order, so there should be some interesting days to come, lol.

Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman…In Singapore!

April 19, 2008

One of my recent Bowen acquisitions, our friendly neighbourhood Spiderman!

It’s interesting to note that this statue isn’t exactly one of Bowen’s more popular pieces. I personally find it very hard to understand why it’s not more sought after, seeing as how the musculature on this piece and attention to detail seems to blow a lot of other sculpts of Spidey out of the way.

Not much to say about the facial sculpt, hehe. However, I feel this piece is much better looking than Sideshow’s Premium Format Spiderman.

The Spidey on Sideshow’s Hulk Vs. Spiderman diorama is quite a looker, though, and could very well give Bowen’s piece a run for his money.

Here we have a dead/dying Venom being left behind by Spidey at the bottom of the rubble. It’s a nice touch to the overall composition, hehe, and the detail paid to this little portion of the sculpt is commendable as well.

Venom was so long overdue for a dental checkup, halitosis killed him

Spidey’s about to leap out of my window ledge to check out his new home!

Here’s a picture I took of Spidey checking out his new neighbourhood!

Hehe, I think that’s one of my favourite pictures I’ve taken of my statues so far.

Overall, I’d say the sculpt, colours and composition of this piece is spot on and absolutely fantastic. I love this Spidey piece from Bowen, and I’m quite sorry that more people don’t seem to feel that way. Judging by the prices of this piece on the Ebay and Yahoo auctions, it appears that this beautiful and underrated offering from Bowen is doomed to secondary market hell.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t have been able to get such a beauty otherwise. ^^

Ironman Movie Picture, and The Spectacular Spiderman

January 7, 2008

Ok. I know it’s an old picture. But that was before I set up my blog. So I want to commit this picture of Ironman from the upcoming Ironman movie for all posterity.

He’s too cool.

Looks good, huh?

Oh, and Warner Bros. is releasing a new animated Spidey.

You know those cliched little grey alien men with black bug eyes? The art for this Spidey looks like one of them men in festive garb.

Still. I can’t wait to see it.
